Here are my real experience of owning an Electric Vehicle since 2017.

TL;DR

I love my EV, and I would not trade it for a gas combustion car. However my reasons for loving my electric car is not just about being environmental friendly. The total cost of ownership of my electric car is lower than the gas car equivalent (specifically $7000 dollar lower over 5 years of ownership - based on Edmunds.com).

Disclaimer: I do not own a Tesla (before you ask).

For most of my adult life (post 18 years old), I relied on public transportation to get me to places, get me to my job.

In 2017, I have decided it’s time for me to finally jump to vehicle ownership, and it’s an electric vehicle. My very first car in my life is an electric car, and when I mentioned this to a friend, he pointed out me that: “You might be the first generation that skipped gas car entirely, and jump into electric car.” — funny thing he said that, because him and I are the same generation — Millennial. (I suspect he is an older millennial, I don’t think we are that far off.)

After owning my electric vehicle, I still have so many people ask me so many questions, and being super skeptical about the electric vehicle.

Some of the questions/statement I often heard:

  • The electric car technology is not that mature yet
  • The battery replacement is expensive
  • The making of electric…
